San Diego Author’s Showcase in San Diego, CA (January 25th) - BRAIN XP was placed in the Downtown San Diego Library!
NAMI San Diego CYFL (National Alliance on Mental Illness: Children, Youth, and Families Liaison) Newsletter Feature (Started in January and Finished at the End of March) - I was featured in this newsletter along with my mom!
TAY (Transitional Age Youth) Conference in Sacramento, CA (February 26th) - I held my FIRST EVER BRAIN XP Workshop Presentation!
My High School Graduation from the Charter School of San Diego (March 5th) - I graduated from high school!
SD Voyager Interview in San Diego, CA (March 28th) - I was interviewed by SD Voyager on my story and BRAIN XP!
North Inland Faith Partnership Presentation in San Diego, CA (April 10th) - I held a BRAIN XP Presentation in Northern San Diego!
Hope for Mental Wellness Keynote Speaking Engagement in Escondido, CA (April 14th) - I had my FIRST EVER Keynote Speaking Engagement!
2nd Annual BRAIN XP Day in San Diego, CA (April 28th) - We celebrated the 2nd Annual BRAIN XP Day!
5th Annual Children’s Mental Health & Well-Being Celebration in San Diego, CA (May 3rd) - I was a part of the planning committee for this event, and I also debuted my original song Memory Jeans with an exclusive performance there! BRAIN XP had a resource table there as well!
CMHACY (The California Mental Health Advocates for Children & Youth) Scholarship in Asilomar, CA (May 15th-17th) - My mom and I received the 2 scholarships from San Diego to go to Asilomar, CA and attend this 3 day event!
My 18th Birthday (May 17th) - I celebrated my 18th birthday!
School Safety Conference in San Diego, CA (May 30th) - I was the Master of Ceremonies for this event!
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) California Conference in Newport Beach, CA (June 1st) - I held a BRAIN XP Workshop at this event! AND the room was so full, there were no seats left! It was standing room only!
2019 IndieReader Discovery Award (International) (June 1st) - My book BRAIN XP won 1st place in the IndieReader Discovery Award International Competition! It is officially the Psychology/Mental Health Book of 2019!
2019 San Diego Book Award in San Diego, CA (June 1st) - My book BRAIN XP won 1st place in the San Diego Book Awards Contest! It is officially 2019’s Best Published Biography/Autobiography in San Diego!
Kiwanis Award in San Diego, CA (June 5th) - I received the Tierrasanta Kiwanis “Hope for America” Award. The award recognizes students selected by school faculty members and administrators to honor and encourage students who have demonstrated academic accomplishment, leadership and good ethical and moral character.
Urban Beats Celebration at Queen Bee’s in San Diego, CA (June 6th) - I spoke at this fun event and also had a BRAIN XP resource table!
Memory Jeans Official Release in San Diego, CA (June 13th) - I officially released my original song Memory Jeans under the artist name Christine XP!
Next Generation Indie Book Award (International) (June 16th) - My book BRAIN XP placed as a finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards! It is an official finalist for the Young Authors Under 25 Book of 2019!
Cal Matters: “Treatment for Psychosis” Article Feature in CA (June 23rd) - I was interviewed about my story and BRAIN XP to be included in this article!
Kickstart Orientation in San Diego, CA (July 20th) - I presented at Kickstart’s Orientation about BRAIN XP and shared how Kickstart has helped me!
RIHS (Responsive Integrated Health Solutions) Training in San Diego, CA (August 7th) - I presented on the experience my mom and I had at CMHACY!
Team Strong 365 in United States of America (August 8th) - I was officially welcomed as a team member on the website for the National Youth Leadership Board for Strong 365!
Professionals, Parents, and Caregivers for Wellness Presentation in San Diego, CA (September 13th) - I presented for this group on BRAIN XP!
UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior Documentary in Los Angeles, CA (September 16th) - I was filmed as I shared my story with psychosis and how BRAIN XP became my passion in this UCLA Documentary!
Discovery Behavioral Health Meeting in Los Alamitos, CA (September 24th) - I met with the leaders of Discovery Behavioral Health, and BRAIN XP partnered with them!
TAY (Transitional Age Youth) Council Presentation in San Diego, CA (September 25th) - I presented for my fellow TAY Council members about BRAIN XP and our offerings!
CAHM (Community Alliance for Healthy Minds) Forum in San Marcos, CA (October 5th) - I spoke on a panel about mental health and my own learning experiences. I also held a BRAIN XP workshop there, and I performed an acoustic version of my original song Understand Me, which will be released in 2020!
Ninth District PTA Suicide Prevention Event at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA (October 12th) - I spoke for this audience about BRAIN XP and shared my story with them!
QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Training in San Diego, CA (October 12th) - I was officially certified after I participated in a QPR Training!
Defiant Ones Teen Magazine Article and Feature based in Atlanta, GA (October 15th) - I was included in this magazine as a mental health article writer, and my picture was included in one of the poster pages!
SD Mission Academy Presentation in San Diego, CA (October 15th) - I presented for the SD Mission Academy team on BRAIN XP and our resources!
Mental Health First Aid Training in San Diego, CA (October 16th) - I spent a full day learning about mental health first aid and am now officially certified as a mental health first aid!
California Behavioral Health Planning Council in CA (October 18th) - I was appointed to be on this statewide California council! This is in addition to my seats on the San Diego Children, Youth, and Families System of Care Council AND the San Diego Transitional Age Youth Council!
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Color Ball Awards Banquet in San Diego, CA (October 23rd) - I received the NAMI Color Ball Award for Youth Advocate of 2019!
Recovery International Meeting in San Diego, CA (October 24th) - I met with Recovery International to discuss how teen mental health can be incorporated more into their program!
Discovery Behavioral Health Presentation in Vista, CA (November 5th) - I presented at a teen residential facility and shared why BRAIN XP can help their clients in the future!
Discovery Behavioral Health Presentation in San Diego, CA (November 6th) - I presented at a teen outpatient facility about BRAIN XP!
California Early Psychosis Intervention Plus Program Collaborative Advisory Committee in CA (November 8th) - I was appointed to this committee and look forward to doing more with them in 2020!
Kickstart 10 Year Anniversary in San Diego, CA (November 21st) - I shared how Kickstart has helped me, and I also shared about BRAIN XP!
Catholic Diocesan Mental Health Keynote Speaking Engagement in San Diego, CA (November 23rd) - I was the keynote speaker at this amazing event, and I received my FIRST EVER standing ovation from the audience!
Wide Awake Parenting Podcast Episode in the Bay Area of CA (November 25th) - I was interviewed for this podcast episode about my story and BRAIN XP by Dr. Kirsten Kuzirian!
1st BRAIN XP Thank You Project in San Diego, CA (November 25th) - I held the FIRST EVER BRAIN XP Thank You Project! 2019’s project featured actual teens from the BRAIN XP Community along with my new original song Victim of Myself!
10th Annual Integration Summit in San Diego, CA (December 4th) - I spoke for approximately 300 people about BRAIN XP! I received my 2nd EVER standing ovation!
San Diego Children, Youth, and Families System of Care Council Presentation in San Diego, CA (December 9th) - I presented for my fellow council members about BRAIN XP and our offerings!
Blue Sky Conference Call in CA (December 13th) - I spoke with leaders from the Blue Sky Program with Blue Shield about teen mental health and BRAIN XP!
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) PEP (Parents Empowering Parents) Presentation in San Diego, CA (December 18th) - I spoke with my mom to parents from the NAMI PEP Program and provided a story of hope for them!
Memory Jeans Website Feature in A&R Factory (December 29th) - Memory Jeans was featured on this website and on their social media platforms!
Victim of Myself Official Release in San Diego, CA (December 31st) - My original song Victim of Myself is available on all streaming and music platforms!
