Poway Unified School District High School Peer Counselors

Poway Unified High School Peer Counseling Programs are filled with a diverse group of compassionate listeners who are inclusive, approachable, ambassadors for our campuses.

They commit to values of empathy, kindness and respect for all. They also commit to a high standard of ethics and a rigorous course of training in: communication skills, healthy relationships, active listening, conflict resolution, mental wellness, recognizing bias and stress management.

Joe Holmes

Joe Holmes is a British writer and presenter on the Advisory Board of Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation. In addition to studying creative writing at university, he has also hosted his own radio show and continues to create multimedia content. After receiving the Essex Newspaper’s Award for Communications for his editorial work, Joe has been emboldened to use his platform and love of storytelling to share the truths that unite us as humans, in order to build a braver world.

(If you are 18 years old or older, you can nominate yourself. Please insert your name on both the “Name of Nominator” & “Name of Nominee” slots if you are nominating yourself. All nominees under the age of 18 must be nominated by an adult. We require parental consent before honoring minors with our Game Changer Award.)
