10 Things Teens Can Do at Home During the COVID-19 Quarantine

What's up guys! My name is Christine. Welcome to my blog, or in other words, welcome to the Brain XP Community! I hope you feel at home! Let's get started!

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us greatly. Many of us have been advised to practice social distancing and to stay home for the most part, which means that teens are not physically going to school. Some of us feel isolated. Some of us feel incredibly bored, and some of us have been experiencing both of those feelings.

In this blog, I will be giving you 10 different things that we, as teens, can do at home during this COVID-19 quarantine!

1. Play #MarchHandNess

Brain XP has started up a fun way of playing pingpong that we can all try out during our time at home. Inspired by March Madness, we have started up the #MarchHandNess Challenge, which is a new way of playing pingpong. All you need are gloves, a table, some sort of measuring stick, and a pingpong ball (or any soft ball). Check out our videos that teach you how to play!

2. FaceTime Friends

Facetiming friends is a great way to keep our connections and communications going during this quarantine. We need to be talking to our friends and staying in touch. This is an easy, simple way to do that.

3. Walk Your Dog

As long as you remember to practice our social distancing standards, there is no reason why you can’t walk your dog and get outside for a few minutes everyday.

4. Throw an Online Party

Even though we cannot throw a party for our friends to physically come over, we can definitely throw online parties to engage with our friends. You can throw an online party through apps like Zoom, or you can even throw an online party through Instagram Live.

5. Make TikTok Videos

Some people find TikTok an amazing app, and some people don’t. Find out for yourself whether or not TikTok is fun for you by making a few TikTok videos!

6. Exercise in Your Backyard

Do some jumping jacks and some leg lunges in your backyard. Get moving and stay active by lifting weights or doing pushups. You can get really creative with this one!

7. Complete Schoolwork Online

If your school has set up a way to complete your work online, then you should definitely be doing your schoolwork. Who knows? You might like doing your work online even better than in the classroom.

8. Play Video Games

Whether it is on your phone or on your gaming system, don’t feel bad playing video games during this quarantine. I don’t personally recommend spending all of your time playing video games, but if you are bored, then why not play for a bit?

9. Dedicate Time to a New Hobby

Maybe this is your time to try out something new! You can try making YouTube videos. You can learn beauty hacks and create makeup tutorials. You might want to learn how to cook or play an instrument or start a new craft. The sky's the limit with this idea!

10. Join the Brain XP Community

Of course, we want to keep our minds healthy during this time. The best way to do that is by interacting with other teens and participating in open discussions about mental health. You can do this by joining the Brain XP Community! We offer resources, spaces to connect, and so much more! Check us out by clicking here, and if you would like to receive free Brain XP updates, you can text “I would like to receive Brain XP’s free Updates!” to (831) BRAIN-XP.
