Now let's really get started!

Christine XP

Christine XP is Christine Marie Frey (me!). I am the international award-winning author of “Brain XP: Living with Mental Illness, A Young Teenager’s Perspective”, and I am the founder of Brain XP. I wrote Brain XP the Book when I was 16 years old. My lived experience facing mental health challenges includes anxiety, depression, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. My challenges started when I was 11-12 years old.

When I was struggling, I lost nearly all my friends. This was at a time when friends meant so much to me as they do for most teenagers. Due to my lack of friendships, I began to feel more and more alone. I tried to find mental health materials from other teenagers, so that I could learn from someone my own age and relate to someone my own age. After searching for years and not being able to find these materials, I decided to create them myself!

Brain XP the Book, Brain XP’s Concept, and The Brain XP Project

My first step was writing my autobiographical book, and then I created the Brain XP Project. Brain XP provides hope to young people battling mental health challenges, letting them know that they are not crazy or alone. Their minds are just special. They think with greater creativity, empathy, and insight. They think in EXPANDED ways! (Brain XP = Brain eXPanded!)

The Brain XP Project offers all of the materials that I could not find when I was struggling. We have our vault of resources also known as our website center - brainxp.org ! We offer teen mental health resources, blogs, videos, podcast episodes, guides and more! We offer a teen toolbox full of teen coping skills along with a 5-part coping skills series. All of these materials are FREE!

If you would like to be updated when Brain XP content is released (weekly), then sign up for our FREE weekly newsletter! Click here to sign up! This weekly newsletter is the first step in joining our community, which I will speak more on later in this blog. You will receive an email directly to your inbox every single week with Brain XP updates, content, events coming up, new resources, and so much more!

The Brain XP Project also offers live presentations and events. I present at these events about Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. & teen mental health awareness.

Music is a HUGE coping skills for teenagers, which is why Brain XP offers new original music inspired by lived experience as well.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OF OUR MATERIALS ARE CREATED BY TEENS FOR OTHER TEENS!
